The surge in oil prices has started to bleed into US inflation expectations. Fears that the Fed will be forced to keep interest rates high triggered a brutal risk-off event in the crypto market. On the 4-hour chart, BTC responded with a very aggressive vertical sell candle, instantly breaking several structural levels before finally resting right on the floor of the crucial support zone (Strong Low) around $65,700. The future narrative depends heavily on this panic level; while high retail FUD can historically act as a reversal signal (contrarian bounce), dominant institutional selling pressure is projected to break the current floor and force the price to slide to seek liquidity in the next demand zone ($63,000 - $64,000) over the coming days.
The current price position is highly precarious as it sits right on the edge of the structural cliff. If the price fails to hold and breaks the $65,000 psychological boundary, cascading liquidations risk occurring. Conversely, if this retail FUD turns into a trap for shorters, the price could quickly bounce back to the nearest resistance zone at $68,000.
