SUN is the governance token of SUN.io, TRON’s integrated DeFi platform supporting stablecoin swaps, token mining, and community-driven governance. After a 1:1000 redenomination in May 2021, the new SUN token offers holders voting rights, staking rewards, and a share of protocol fees. The platform includes SunSwap (an AMM DEX) and SunPump (a meme token launchpad). A deflationary model is in place, with over 641 million SUN tokens burned since 2021, reducing the total supply over time.
